Citizens Fire Academy Citizens Fire Academy Introduction The Brentwood Fire Department is always interested in providing information to the citizens we serve, so Brentwood has joined other innovative fire departments across the nation in offering its Citizens Fire Academy. The Citizens Fire Academy is a three-month program targeted towards adults in the Brentwood community. Academy participants will receive an insider’s view of the services provided by the Brentwood Fire Department, fire & life safety training for the home and work place, and hands-on experience in emergency operations. The participants will also be able to ride along on emergency calls with firefighters as they respond to actual emergency calls while participating in the Academy. The Brentwood Fire Department offers the Citizens Fire Academy free of charge in order to inform the citizens of the services the Department provides and to increase fire and life safety awareness. The Academy also offers fire service personnel the opportunity to learn from citizens their concerns, suggestions, and questions regarding the services they provide.
