Neighborhood Watch Program
The Brentwood Police Department’s Neighborhood Watch Program is a cooperative crime prevention effort between the residents of a neighborhood and the police department. It is not a citizen patrol or a vigilante program, but rather a program that allows for better communications between residents and the police department. There are currently 22 neighborhoods actively involved in the Watch program. The Neighborhood Watch program is coordinated by Officer Mark Wood. If you are interested in starting a program in your neighborhood, please call Officer Wood or Officer Sam Bady at 371-2267 or email Officer Wood at woodm@brentwood-tn.org
Home Security
Home Security Survey - Is Your Home Secure?
Is your home as safe and secure as it should be? You may want to consider having a security survey conducted of your home by the Brentwood Police Department. Home security surveys are offered as a free service to residents who live within the city limits of Brentwood. The survey consists of police officers checking everything on a home from the visibility of the house number on the mailbox to the integrity of the window frames. Having a survey done also gives the homeowner an opportunity to ask a police officer specific questions about their particular home. Home security surveys are another way that the Brentwood Police Department is striving to be proactive in the battle against crime. By giving homeowners suggestions on how they may make their homes more secure, the Police Department hopes to deter crimes such as thefts and burglaries.
Here is a short checklist of ways homeowners can make their home safer:
If you would like to schedule a security survey of your home, please call the Brentwood Police Department’s D.A.R.E./Crime Prevention Office at 371-2267.
