City Building Closings

The City offices and library are closed on the following holidays: NewYear’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day,
Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day and Christmas Day. When any
holiday occurs on a Sunday, offices will be closed on Monday; and when the holiday occurs on a Saturday, offices will be closed
on Friday.

City Commission Meeting

Meetings are normally held the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Center’s Commission Chambers,
located at 5211 Maryland Way. Agendas for upcoming meetings are available at the Municipal Center, on city's web site,
 www.brentwood-tn.org and are also published as legal notices in a local newspaper. Citizens wishing to address the City Commission
may do so during the "Citizens’ Comment" portion of the agenda. A sign-in sheet is provided for those wishing to make comments.
The City Commission meeting is rebroadcast on Comcast Cable Channel 19 on Tuesday and Thursday (9:00 a.m. & 7:00 p.m.) 
following the meeting and webcast at www.brentwood-tn.org. Call 371-0060 for further information.

City Commissioners

The City Commission is the legislative and policy-making body of the City. It consists of seven members elected at-large for four year,
staggered terms. The Mayor and Vice Mayor are appointed by the City Commission for two year terms.

City Court

City Court generally deals with traffic cases and violations of city ordinances.  Court is held eight times a month at 8:00 a.m. and
4:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at the Municipal Center, 5211 Maryland Way.  To confirm a court date, call 371-2272,
extension 272 or court@brentwood-tn.org.

City Manager

The City of Brentwood operates under a commission-manager form of government. The City Manager is hired by the Board of
Commissioners and is the Chief Executive Officer with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of city government, as well as
implementing the policies enacted by the City Commission. The City Manager’s office is located at the Municipal Center, 5211
Maryland Way, 371-0060.

As part of the City’s customer service effort, a detailed street map has been developed for our residents, businesses, and visitors.

This publication, developed by the City’s Community Relations Department, provides citizens with information on city services.

Community Relations Department

This department provides information on city activities, coordinates special events and helps citizens who are unable to determine
the appropriate department to contact to resolve a problem. Responsibilities include public information - City Newsletter, Government
Channel 19, City Web Page, New Resident’s Packet and Community Guide; community volunteer boards; city sponsored events -
July 4th, Park Concert Series & Arbor Day; overseeing the Cool Springs House and historic log house in Crockett Park; the
Historic Boiling Spring Academy on Moores Lane and coordinating volunteer work by citizens. For more information call 371-0060.

or make a suggestion.

Concerts at Amphitheater

The City sponsors a concert series annually at the Eddy Arnold Amphitheater located in Crockett Park. Contact the Community
Relations Director at 371-0060 for a schedule of events or further information.  In order for everyone to enjoy the concerts, the Parks
Department has several guides: no rollerblades, skateboards or bikes on the amphitheater grass, no alcohol or smoking permitted, and
please keep dogs, frisbees and balls on the outside edge of the amphitheater.

Cool Springs House

The historic Cool Springs House in Crockett Park, owned and maintained by the city, is available for rent. The first floor is designed
for weddings, receptions and community gatherings, and a portion of the second floor has been transformed into a large conference
room for meetings, seminars, workshops and business retreats. For further information call the Municipal Center at 371-0060.

Crime Prevention

Crime prevention is a major emphasis of the City of Brentwood Police Department. Officers are available to help organize
Neighborhood Watch programs, which encourage neighbors to be alert and report suspicious activities to the police. Contact
the Police Department at 371-2281, extension 345 or 346.

Crime Report (Non-Emergency)

To report a non-emergency crime call the Brentwood Police Department, 371-0160. For emergencies, call 911.

Cross Connection Control Program

This program protects against contamination and pollution to the city’s water supply. If a lawn irrigation system is connected to the
city’s water supply a backflow prevention device is required and inspected annually. For more information contact the Codes Department
at 371-2204.
