 FAQ'S

Please read, as you are going to be held accountable for all information on this page being conveyed to you.

  1. What is considered a Brentwood Resident?  A Brentwood Resident pays city taxes to the City of Brentwood. This includes, homeowners, schools, churches and businesses. Also keep in mind that even though you may have a Brentwood mailing address, that does not mean that you pay your taxes to the City of Brentwood. If you still are unsure, please call 371-0080 and we will be happy to look up your address and let you know.
  2. When is my payment due? ALL payments whether it be just the refundable deposit or the refundable deposit and the non resident fee are due in the office w/in (3) business days of your approval. If payment is not received or a call is not placed to request an extension, your request will be cancelled and you will have to do the process of requesting all over again.
  3. What form of payment is accepted?  Check  or Money Order is the only form of payment currently accepted. Cash is NOT accepted.  Please make your deposit and non resident fee in two separate checks or money orders.
  4. What happens to my deposit check after my event?  Your deposit is shredded the following Monday after your event, unless you receive a call from the Parks Department stating that there was a problem w/the final inspection.
  5. Where are the shelters / pavilion located in each park?
Crockett Park: (behind Woodland Elementary) When you go through the park entrance, go to the 4-way stop and go to the right, it's down the hill and on the right hand side.
Granny White Park: (behind BMS and BHS) Go through park entrance and pavilion is located at the far end of the parking lot beside the playground.
Owl Creek Park: (about 1 mile out past the Governors Club) Go through entrance and it is on your right.
River Park: (directly across from the Brentwood Library)Turn onto Knox Valley Drive and immediately to your left is the shelter and playground.
  6. Can I bring a charcoal grill into the park? NO.  The only charcoal grills allowed in the park are the ones that are under the shelters or along the river bank.  IF you feel like you will need another cooking surface, you are allowed to bring in propane grills w/a portable fire extinguisher for each grill. Permission must be granted through this office before you bring them on park property.
  7. Can I bring a baby pool or sprinkler for my event? NO. We do not allow baby pools, sprinklers, slip-n-slides or inflatables w/any kind of water component.
  8. But its so hot...what can we do to let the children cool off? Water/squirt guns, spray bottles or water balloons are allowed. If you choose to fill and play with water balloons, the balloon pieces must be removed from the grassy area completely before the end of your event. If not cleaned up, you risk loosing your deposit.
  9. I want to have an inflatable for my event, what do I need to do? You are welcome to have an inflatable at one of our parks if you have a reservation for a shelter/pavilion only.  The City of Brentwood must be added as an additional insured and a copy of the COL (Certificate of Liability) must be on file with our office. If approved, you will be authorized to have the inflatable erected on park property at that time. If you have not notified the office and given them a copy of the COL, you are not allowed to have the inflatable. If we find that you have the inflatable anyway, you will be required to remove it and you may loose your deposit.
  10. Can we have an ice cream truck or food vendor truck come to our event? Sure...but NO, money can be exchanged on park property. If you would like to have a vendor come in and serve at your event, you must prepay the vendor prior to your scheduled event. This includes any services provided for your event, ie; performer, caterer, musician, magician, face painter, etc.
  11. My child's school would like to have an event at one of the parks, can I reserve it on behalf of his/her class? If the event is during school hours, on a school day...No, you may not. The school must make the request and pay the deposit and fee if applicable. If the event is after school hours or on a weekend... yes, you may make the request and put up the deposit and fee if applicable.
