The Planning Section of the department works to improve the built environment and the quality of life in Brentwood by establishing and implementing high standards for new development. Our efforts are centered on the application of the adopted zoning ordinance and subdivision regulations which are, in turn, guided by the Brentwood comprehensive plan, otherwise known as the Brentwood 2020 Plan.
Brentwood’s city planning professionals are directed by Planning and Codes Director, Jeff Dobson. Current planning efforts focus on zoning, subdivision, annexation, site development, and appeals cases. Long-range planning is evidenced within the Brentwood 2020 Plan & Updates, which is regularly updated to reflect the evolving needs of the community. In addition, the Planning Section directly supports the associated efforts of the Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Planning staff is available for consultation Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To expedite your service, it is advisable to make phone contact staff contacts in advance and make an appointment for your visit.
