The Brentwood Historic Society is a volunteer citizen organization of the City of Brentwood Historic Commission, dedicated to the study and preservation of the City’s history and culture. The Historic Commission's purpose is to promote the
preservation of Brentwood's historic sites and heritage. This is accomplished by recognizing and preserving the historic sites in Brentwood such as the Cool Springs House in Crockett Park and the Boiling Spring Academy in Primm Park.
Purpose:
To promote the study of history and culture in the City of Brentwood so as to help keep the City’s heritage alive, accessible and relevant.
Goals:
To encourage the people of the community to become actively involved in learning about the history and the culture of their City and its forefathers and to provide educational programs, activities and events relating to the heritage of Brentwood.
Objectives:

To publicize and promote the purpose of the Historic Commission to the public.

To stimulate participation and support among the membership and the citizens of the community in order to keep the historical aspects of Brentwood alive, relevant and accessible for this and future generations

To promote the educational, cultural, civic awareness, and quality of life in the City of Brentwood while preserving tangible links with the past for the benefit of the present and enrichment of the future.

To foster civic pride and historic recognition through preservation of Brentwood’s heritage.
