Johnson Chapel/Belle Rive/Granny White Pk. Area Water System Improvements Project:
The purpose of this project is to replace and upsize area water lines to improve both the quality and quantity of water delivered to the residents of Brentwood. It includes installing water lines from the intersection of Murray Lane and Johnson Chapel Rd, along Fisher Ct, McClanahan Dr., Johnson Chapel Rd., Belle Rive Dr. and Granny White Pk., terminating at the intersection of Granny White Pk. and Murray Ln. (Project Update (July, 24, 2014):
Contractor began work in May and has installed about 8,000 feet of the required 15,000 feet of water line. In the coming weeks, the primary pipe crews (the large footprint of construction) will be moving eastward past Waxwood Dr., continuing towards Granny White Pk. The second pipe crew starting on the Granny White end will be continuing north along Granny White Pk. towards Belle Rive Dr. Lane closures can be expected along Granny White Pk. during the next 2 weeks. Work is anticipated to be ongoing through late the Fall at varying stages with final paving taking place late Fall or early Spring (weather dependent). This is a major public works project being undertaken by the City and we appreciate everyone's patience during this disruptive time.
Water Station Replacement Projects:
The purpose of this project is to replace and upsize two of the City's water pumping stations. One located along Murray Lane, across the road from the entrance to Windstone Subdivision and the second at the intersection of Murray Lane and Johnson Chapel Road West.
(Project Update (July 24, 2014):
The City has awarded a construction contract(s) to a project contractor and it is anticipated that the Murray Lane station work will begin sometime this fall. The work on installing the second station at Murray Lane and Johnson Chapel West, will begin this winter or early spring.
Annual Water Line Replacement Project (currently woking in Stonehenge):
The purpose of this project is to replace aging water lines as part of the department's efforts to maintain the integrity of the City's water distribution system. The project will include replacing 6 inch plastic pipe with new ductile iron pipe along Stoneleigh Circle, then northward along Ashby Drive and along Dorchester Circle.
Project Update (July 24, 2014):
The water lines for Dorchester, parts of Ashby Dr. and Stone Leigh Cir. have been installed and placed into service. The next phase which includes Victoria Cove, Prince Phillip Cove, Albert Dr. and Regents Dr. is anticipated to begin this summer With Surveying and design currently underway.
