The next phase of the Concord Road Widening Project begins at Sunset Road on the west and continues all the way to Nolensville Road on the east. The road will be widened to 3 lanes with a separated 10-foot wide bike/pedestrian path running along the south side of the improved road.
The City funded engineering design and right-of-way acquisition. Project management and construction is being done by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).
TDOT has awarded a construction contract to Mountain States Contractors. At this time, utility relocation work continues along with storm drain installation, general grading and bridge work at both Owl Creek and Mill Creek. Traffic has been moved to new lanes in a few locations. Motorists can expect occasional, short-term lane closures to allow equipment operate within the construction zone. Construction is expected to be complete around May 2016.
