The 2020 Comprehensive Plan is the guiding document used by the City Commission, advisory boards, and staff as they seek to ensure a bright future for the Brentwood community. Originally adopted in 1999, the Plan was updated in 2006 and a progress review was conducted in 2008. It is now time to update the plan again.
Over the coming months, the City will assess its progress toward achieving the goals outlined in the plan. Current and anticipated conditions will be evaluated and the results will be used to determine if any part of the plan needs modification. Also being done at the same time is a major thoroughfare study, which will assist in identifying strategies to improve the flow of transportation within the city.
The process is expected to be completed in mid-2014. There will be a variety of methods employed along the way to ensure that our most important stakeholders - our residents - have ample opportunity to participate and assist in the development of new ideas or changes to be incorporated into the plan. Public workshops will be supplemented by opinion surveys and other outreach methods to ensure maximum community engagement.
