To Residential Builders,

We welcome you to attend the City of Brentwood Fall Builder's Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 12th. Guest Speaker Mark Richardson with Simpson Strong-Tie will discuss the importance of identifying and properly transferring structural loads from the point of origin to the foundation of a structure. Connection points, connection methods, fasteners and anchoring are key components in maintaining structural integrity.

Following Mr. Richardson's presentation Travis Lankford with the W&S Department will provide an overview on the proper protection of utility boxes during construction.

The City Engineering Department will discuss future requirements for new single family construction, large additions, double access driveway requests, etc. in older subdivisions triggering potential drainage concerns.

During lunch hour, Building Inspector-Bobby Butts will provide an overview on techniques to ensure inspection(s) will be approved during the initial inspection. Completion of work, walking project prior to inspection request and reviewing inspection checklists are fundamental elements for approval.
